As a mom of three, I have been through my fair share of child carriers. However, most of them are meant for my baby, and that doesn't help me when I need one for an older child. Sure, some might be asking "why would an older child need a carrier, can't they just walk?" Well, yes and no...for the most part, of course, they can, but for times when their legs are getting tired, or they need a boost up, a good carrier is a great thing to have. Enter the Freeloader (great name, am I right?!)
Take my family for instance...I have a baby that will be one soon, a 6-year-old, and a 10-year-old. We want to spend the day at the Zoo for the baby's first birthday...now we all know how much walking that entails, and we also know that sometimes it is hard to see into the enclosure. That's why I am so glad we have our new Freeloader carrier. While I carry the baby or push her in her stroller, my husband can hoist our 6-year-old on his back, secure in the Freeloader carrier.
This is the coolest carrier I have seen thus far; It has a seat that she can sit on and a seatbelt that keeps her securely in place. The carrier is cushioned so that it is comfortable for my husband, and there are thick padded straps that go on like a backpack. The straps click in the front for more security and have little, zippered pockets for things like your phone, or keys. The Freeloader allows my daughter to be at a level where she can see the animals, without her legs getting tired, causing a quick end to a Zoo visit.
